One of the most important lessons we can learn in life is to accept who we are, as we are.
This simple yet complex understanding will liberate the life that you are. Losing sight of who we are or developing a falseness of who we think we should be produces confusion. This conditioned state of mind causes us to struggle with self-doubt, insecurity, and comparison, thinking that we are not good enough, smart enough, or successful enough. We may try to change who we are to fit into some ideal image of who we think we should be, or who others expect us to be. But this only leads to more frustration, stress, unhappiness, and more confusion.
The truth is, we are all unique and valuable, with our own strengths, weaknesses, passions, and preferences. We are all human, with our own flaws, mistakes, and challenges, on our own journey, at our own pace, direction, and destination. All of us are worthy of love, respect, and compassion, just as we are.
· Instead of rejecting who we are, we should embrace who we are.
· Instead of judging who we are, we should appreciate who we are.
· Instead of hiding who we are, we should express who we are.
· Instead of limiting who we are, we should expand who we are.
· Instead of fighting who we are, we should befriend who we are.
When we allow who we are to be whatever we are, we free our limited thinking, from the pressure of perfectionism, the fear of failure, and the anxiety of approval. We give our Being permission to explore our potential, pursue our dreams, and enjoy our lives. We also give others the opportunity to see us for who we really are, connecting with us on a deeper level.
Being who we are does not mean that we stop learning, improving, or changing.
· It means that we do so from a place of acceptance, awareness, and love.
· It means that we do so for our own sake, not for someone else's.
· It means that we do so in a way that aligns with our core values, goals, and purpose.
Being who we are is not always easy, especially if we’re struggling with our thoughts. We may face criticism, rejection, or misunderstanding from others, who do not share our views, values, or vision. Their opinions of us are irrelevant to our Soul / Being however are extremely painful to the ego. This produces resistance from the ego, which develops into fears, doubts, and insecurities.
You don't need to worry about what others think of you, because their judgments are based on their own illusions and projections. Their ego is judging you and your ego which is a false construct feeds on their judging of you, in which neither case reflects your soul; just egos clashing.
You achieve happiness and fulfillment by living according to your core beliefs and mission. Instead of worrying about what others think or expect of you, focus on what resonates with your Soul. This way, you will be more authentic, confident and satisfied with your life choices.
Being who we are is always worth it because it is the only way to live authentically, meaningfully, and happily.
We need to allow who we are to be whatever we are, and I promise you, it will be okay.
